Description
Old Forester 1920 Bourbon delivers a bold, high proof Prohibition style profile inspired by the whiskey the brand continued to produce legally for medicinal use in 1920. It opens with deep notes of dark caramel, chocolate, dried fruit, and toasted oak, supported by warm baking spice and a touch of smoke. The finish is long and robust, carrying rich sweetness, oak depth, and a warm, full bodied character.
Producer
Made by Brown Forman in Louisville, Kentucky, this expression is part of the Whiskey Row Series, which highlights historic milestones in Old Forester’s legacy. The 1920 release reflects the stronger, more concentrated bourbon typical of Prohibition era bottlings, showcasing the distillery’s commitment to history, tradition, and full flavored whiskey. Each batch is blended to maintain its signature depth and high proof structure.
Cocktail Suggestion
This bourbon makes a powerful Old Fashioned where its chocolate, caramel, and spice intensity come forward with clarity. It also performs beautifully neat or with a single cube, which opens its layered richness without softening the bold finish.
B9 (Folic Acid)
