6mm Tou Aramid-Core Sling

The Tou* aramid slings by FIXE have been specifically designed for optimal use with Machard and Prusik knots, as well as for equalizing anchors or using in natural anchors. Their aramid core provides high tenacity, exceptional cut resistance, and thermal stability, making them ideal for high-friction maneuvers and extended rappels.

With a tensile strength of 22 kN, they comply with EN 566 standards and are available in 30, 45, 60 cm.

When to Use the Tou

• For autoblocking knots (Machard, Prusik ): The Tou’s soft polyamide sheath ensures excellent grip on the rope, facilitating use in friction hitches. The Prusik knot locks more aggressively and is best suited for rigid or icy ropes.
• Safe rappelling: Its thermal resistance reduces the risk of wear from friction and heat.
• Anchor equalization (anchor sling): Ensures a balanced load distribution, reducing tension points and improving anchor stability.
• Natural anchors (rock bridges, small trees, cord loops): Can be used to secure ropes to natural features, subject to anchor assessment.
• Extending anchor points: Helps optimize anchor positioning, avoiding sharp angles or leverage issues.
